Tasty Tuesday - Pat's Molasses Cookies

Molasses Cookies

Preheat oven To 375
1 and 1/2 cups of flour
3/4 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
then set aside

1/2 cup of crisco
3/4 cup of sugar
Combine flour mixture with sugar mixture.

1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
1/2 cup of flaked coconut
1/2 cup of chopped nuts (she used pecans)

Drop by tablespoonful on cookie sheet about an inch apart. bake for 10 minutes.

This is my mother’s recipe for Molasses cookies. It brings back fond memories of coming home from school and how moist and chewy they are. When the kids were growing up as a treat my mom would stop by with one for each of us. They are so good. You are in for a treat.
