Tasty Tuesday: Easy Meatball Sauce

At a recent party, we added a quick sauce to our meatballs and people just ate them up! It's so fast and easy. All you need is your favorite meatball recipe (or your favorite store-bought meatballs if you like the semi-homemade approach) and the following two ingredients:

1 can crushed pineapple
1 bottle barbecue sauce

Choose a sauce flavor that melds well with your meatballs. Mine were plain so we used sweet honey barbecue sauce. Just mix the two together and heat them up, then cook your meatballs in the sauce. They are delicious! Serve them hot, of course.

I just love little hacks like these that change plain recipes into something special. What are your favorite simple recipe tweaks?

Tasty Tuesday: The Easiest Pull-Apart Bread You'll Ever Make!

We made this pull-apart bread for Christmas and our last 4-H group meeting and it was devoured both times! It's super easy and super tasty.

All you need are:
A can of Grands biscuits (Golden Layers work really well)
3/4 a stick of butter
4 cloves of garlic, minced
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated (use fresh if possible!)
1 tsp basil, oregano or Italian seasoning

Preheat the oven to 350. Break your biscuits up into bite-sized pieces. (If you have kids, this is a great way for them to help you cook!) Mix all ingredients except for the butter and toss them with your biscuit pieces. Melt your butter, either in your oven as it pre-heats or in the microwave, and toss the bread in it as well. Top it with any additional cheese if you prefer and bake it for 20 minutes. Serve hot.

You can substitute other cheeses if you like, too. We used cheddar on another loaf. It just didn't taste as good as the Parmesan, though!

Tasty Tuesday: Hasselback Potatoes

These Swedish baked potatoes are SO easy to make, and taste sinfully good. You'll need:

6 baking potatoes
1 cup of fresh, grated mixed cheeses of your choice (we use Parmesan and Gruyere)
1/3 cup melted butter
salt and pepper to taste

Peel your potatoes if you prefer; I like the skin on mine. Cut slits all along your potatoes width-wise until they look a bit like a bloomin' onion. Season your melted butter with salt and pepper. You can also add parsley, paprika, Mrs. Dash or any other seasonings that you enjoy.

Place your potatoes in this mixture until they are coated nicely. You may need to add butter depending on the size of your potatoes. Bake them in the oven at 400 degrees for about half an hour. Then pour the rest of your butter and all of your cheese over them and bake a bit longer until the cheese is melted and serve hot. Add sour cream, chives or any other garnishes you like. Feel free to add more cheese if you want them extra oozy!

Canna from Hard As a Rock would love this dish because it's decadent and gooey, oozing with cheese and flavor. She loves to "haunt" the Pleasure Club because it engages all of her senses, and so do these potatoes.

The Saturday Book Diver Interviews Canna from Hard as a Rock by Sara Jay

Good morning! Welcome to the Saturday Book Diver!

Since I interview fictional characters, many of them are unusual. Today I have a particularly unique interviewee. Canna is a lovely green fairy with a problem. She has fallen in love with a gargoyle, the one we’re looking at right now from where we stand in the human sex club on this futuristic world.

SBD: Canna, thank you for talking to us. What made you fall in love with a gargoyle?

Canna: [Sighs] Just look at him! Who wouldn’t want to be his mate? His face, his body… It’s like he was built just for me. I like to play with all of the humans here. They’re so much fun! But my gargoyle is the one I like to play with best.

The Gargoyle is hot looking. I can see the attraction.

SBD: Do you have any way of communicating with him, even though he’s inanimate?

Canna: Of course not, he’s not real… [Pauses] Wait, do you know something I don’t know?

SBD: I don’t think so. The book diver magic doesn’t always give me a lot of insight until I talk to the characters. What do some of your fantasies about the gargoyle  include?

Canna: Oh, I’ve done just about anything you can do to him already! [Winks] My fantasy is that one day he’ll come to life and take me the way I’ve taken him so many times. He’ll claim me and make me his, forever, making love to me in the night sky against the moon and stars… [Laughs] But I know that will never happen.

SBD: Do you feel there might be magic at work here? That maybe this gargoyle is more than what he seems to be?

Canna: Oh, yes. I mean, he’s obviously just a statue, but he looks SO real! It feels like he can see me, feel me, but I know better.

SBD: Would you share one of your favorite excerpts from Hot as a Rock?

Her obsidian god stared back at her.
She shrank back down to human size and sighed.
The creature wasn’t real, of course. In fact, its purpose was mainly aesthetic. Few people climbed onto the fierce gargoyle guarding the doorway into the rest of the club. Canna certainly didn’t mind; it made him all the more her property.
Seven feet of black volcanic rock loomed over patrons’ heads. His mouth pulled back in a menacing growl, only partly open. Long black hair draped down his back as shiny and lifelike as any centaur’s. His half-extended wings nearly touched the floor. They flanked a trunk bulging with muscle and strength, scarred with streaks that must have been from being moved around over the years. Had he been a real gargoyle, the sculpture would undoubtedly lead his pride as an alpha.
His cock stood out and slightly upward from his body, shining with a black gleam. Longer than her arm, it had taken some getting used to even in her fairy form. Why bother magically stretching to accommodate such girth when the fill of it was so delicious, anyway?
She called him Goliath, like the giant brought down by a rock as solid as he was. As with every statue and machine in the Pleasure Club, he was warm and life-like to the touch. In previous centuries, his stature would crack beneath such use. Current standards for precious stones dictated chemical treatment for lasting durability.
That durability guaranteed her play toy a life nearly as endless as her own.
He often cooled in the daytime hours, however, which Canna attributed to lack of power. Some exhibits simply warranted less electricity due to their infrequent use. His volcanic glass could also be to blame. Had he been real, his stone body would cool during the day as well.
“My rock-hard giant,” she murmured, running her glittery green fingernails up his enormous bicep. Curling herself into his form playfully, she marveled at how their bodies practically glowed against one another. Her bare, sea foam skin and emerald hair sharply contrasted against his iron-like sheen.
Twirling back out to face him, her grass-green eyes sparkled up at his stone irises. His eyes bore back into hers, their inky depths casting dual black holes for her to fall into. The pupils had been etched quite realistically, with swirls of varying shades of ebony. Not for the first time, she sensed wild life within them.
For a second, he felt really alive, really there to take her and mark her as his Mate, forever. Hand still on his arm, she fluttered up toward his mouth, eyes never leaving his, as if pulled by his magnetic ore. Her lips grazed his open mouth, tongue sliding over his teeth and body quivering.

Intriguing!

As I leave Canna’s world, I can’t help feeling sorry for her and hoping that through some kind of magic, she and her gorgeous gargoyle might be united after all. If you’d like to find out what happens too, check out

Excerpt From Sara Jay's "Hard As a Rock" :: Erotic Romance M/F/More (R)

Today's not only my anniversary; it's also the day my book dedicated to my husband, Hard As a Rock, comes out at Changeling!

Meet Canna, the insatiable faery from Hard As a Rock. She may be green, but she’s no newbie when it comes to The Pleasure Club. Patrons of the Club think she’s a pleasure poltergeist as she takes part in their sexy adventures, and this flirty faery loves to keep her secret!

Canna’s got her eyes on the club’s resident gargoyle statue, a seven-foot-tall Goliath among the rest of the club’s kinky decor. Even though he’s not real, Canna’s nightly visits with him certainly feel almost real enough…

R-Rated Excerpt:
Here’s one of the mini sex scenes in the book Hard As a Rock between Canna and a Pleasure Club patron enjoying a contraption called “The Handler.” There are several of these mini-sex scenes in the book, along with a self-pleasure scene and two full-blown sex scenes. Enjoy the scene below!

It was early. Only two patrons enjoyed the services of the club at the moment. One man buried his body between two giant, hanging breasts on one wall, while another sighed as six hands, attached to constantly circling arms, massaged his cock, balls, and ass. As with all of the other Pleasure Providers, both sets of realistic parts were soft, warm, and resembled true human anatomy down to the last detail.

Skintex, a revolutionary polymer made from latex and synthetic skin, was to thank for the realistic objects. Stuart Anderson, the club’s original owner, had financed its development in the mid twenty-second century. His great grandson, Rand, owned the club now.

Sighing contentedly, Canna approached the man at the revolving arms station. A popular attraction, the Handler was normally one of the first and last contraptions occupied every night. Extending her body to human size while still remaining invisible, she reached down and added her hand, a seventh to the mix.
The man’s eyes widened instantly, her fairy touch much more pleasurable than the synthetic human hands, no matter how realistic they were. “Sweet ghost,” he whispered, groaning.

Canna giggled, the sound barely brushing the man’s face like a sweet, cool breeze. Most of the people believed the Pleasure Palace to be haunted due to her nightly shenanigans, which suited her just fine. The sex thrilled her, but serving as the establishment’s resident pleasure poltergeist was fun, too.

She ran her long fingers along the underside of his balls, delightfully watching goose bumps trail his naked thighs. He jerked again, moaning as she continued her ministrations.

Thumbing the tip of his rigid cock with one hand, she drifted the other farther below his balls and over his perineum. She circled the soft area slowly with her index finger, etching invisible swirls of pleasure onto his sensitive skin.

He gasped when she spiraled the finger around the opening of his anus. Canna drove it into his body with a small, shallow thrust. Then she drove her finger deeper, past her meadow-colored knuckle, and twisted gently.

Jerking upward, the man’s body shot a thick rope of cum into the air. Canna’s green eyes glowed as she impishly grinned, watching the fluid fly. The liquid immediately and silently dissipated into the chemical filtration system of the modern sex club. The developers had, of course, thought of everything.

“Thank you,” he moaned, leaning back in spent ecstasy.

Bane From "Boon Collector" Offers 10 Reasons to Read His Story

Sara: Okay, Bane. I told you I'd let you share 10 reasons why people should read your story, but you promised to behave. I'll have to cut you off if you start pulling your tricks. Deal?

Bane: Okay, okay! Look, I'm not gonna lie. At the beginning of my story, Tisha seems pretty mousy. A wallflower, if you will. By the time she's had her legs wrapped around me, however... she's a totally different person. She's who she was meant to be, as you'll find out.

I've got 10 good reasons to read my story The Boon Collector. OK, it's Sara Jay's story, but it's about me, so it's mine, too. I'm a demon, and I say so.

10. Tree sex. Intrigued yet? And no, I don't mean in a tree.

9. Sex while falling down into hell. You can't beat that. I would know.

8. Janie Esparza from The Romance Studio says, "The love scenes between Bane and Tisha are melting hot." I don't like to brag, but... yeah, I do, and yeah, they are.

7. Human-demon relationship development. You wish you had it this good.

6. Tisha's sexy tasks to complete in Hell. One includes a very organic flogger and a woman. Another, a woodcutter who doesn't even know she's there. The others, well, I'll let you read about them in the book...

5. Demons have extra appendages. Yeah, I'm talkin' tail.

4. You get to go to Hell without actually going to Hell. That's a pretty sweet deal.

3. Demons aren't always what you think we are. We might surprise you in the end.

2. It's a story about returning to yourself, something I know a lot of humans can relate to. Okay, demons, too.

1. My abs. Need I say more?

The Saturday Book Diver Interviews Bane from Soul Debt: The Boon Collector by Sara Jay

Hello and welcome to the Saturday Book Diver! Every weekend I travel to fictional worlds to bring you interviews with intriguing and sexy characters.

I have to admit I'm apprehensive--frightened to be exact--about the location of this interview. Just moments ago I entered Hell. If not for the Book Diver Magic protecting me, I would be downright terrified.

So far this part of Hell isn't as terrible as I expected it to be. The best description of it is in a quote from Soul Debt: The Boon Collector by Sara Jay:

"Tall rows of yellow grass swayed in what must have been perpetual autumn. The air flowed in a cool but not unpleasant breeze. All of the trees stood dormant, dead leaves forlornly surrounding their bases. No matter where she looked, there was nothing but dead grass, dead leaves, dead everything."

In the distance, I see a figure approaching. As he walks toward me through the tall grass, I notice he is very tall with an athletic build. His long, black hair floats on the breeze and his fiery red eyes stare into mine, sending a chill down my spine. His eyes are so hypnotic that it takes me a moment to realize he has purple-black skin and a long tail floating behind him.

He pauses in front of me and stares.

SBD: Hello. Are you Bane?

Bane: I am.

[Ah. A man of few words. It seems we're going to remain standing here for the interview, which makes sense. After all, we're in Hell, where I'm sure comfort isn't a top priority.]

SBD: Would you tell us what being a demon is like?

Bane: It is many things to different demons. There are hobgoblins, gremlins, incubi, you name it. I am more of a psychological fellow, myself, so you don’t want to let me get in your head. The best way to do that, of course, is to let go.

[Something tells me that’s easier said than done!]

SBD: Do you ever get attached to humans you're sent to deal with?

Bane: It happens. Some more than others.

SBD: How would you describe Tisha?

Bane: (sigh) Tisha is not who she seems. I have to remind her who she is and what she must do.

SBD: Is there any chance of you getting out of Hell and even if you could, would you want to?

Bane: Of course. Anyone can get out of my Hell if they just listen and do what I say. I’m a reasonable demon, but you do have to follow the rules. (Another sigh.) I don’t particularly want to leave, myself, but to each his own.

SBD: Is there anything you'd like to add before the end of the interview?

Bane: You humans need to learn to live in the moment. And to get over it, already.

SBD: I’ll keep that in mind. Would you share one of your favorite excepts from The Boon Collector?

Bane: Sure. Here is part of the scene where I introduce Tisha to what’s in store for her here with me.

Flames ran furiously up and down the walls in vibrant displays of orange and yellow. Angry red welts slashed at her wallpaper, though nothing seemed to be burning. No smoke could be seen. The room was simply set ablaze.

Hairs on the back of Tisha’s neck leapt up.

“Boo,” a deep, masculine voice growled behind her.

Shrieking, Tisha leaped over the flames into the lit but otherwise empty kitchen. Backing away from the source of the sound, she saw a creature straight out of her nightmares.

He was unnaturally tall and muscular with a lean athletic frame hugged in an expensive-looking suit. Long black hair wildly framed his face in a lion-like fashion, and a goatee of the same shade framed his quirked mouth. Fiery red eyes that matched the flames in Tisha’s kitchen peered at her in amusement. He could have easily been a human wearing contacts, but then there was his purple-black skin. And the long, round-tipped tail.

“You -- you’re -- what are you?” Tisha wailed, cowering back from the creature helplessly. She felt behind her for a weapon but only encountered her burning wallpaper. Oddly, her fingers didn’t burn from it. They only felt warm.

The man casually brushed off invisible lint from his expensive suit, sighing. “You know the answer to that question already, Tisha.”

Something told her he was right. He did seem familiar, but that was absurd! Why would a -- well, whatever he was -- look familiar?

“How do you know my name?” she demanded. She later thought it was a bit of a stupid question, as he was in her house, after all.

“I know a lot of things about you. I know that you were so shy to correct your teachers that for twelve years people called you Tricia instead of your given name. I know that you lived with a deadbeat boyfriend for three months before he left you high and dry, not to mention penniless. I know you’re still wondering why you ever let him into your heart. And I know you’re going to pay his debt for me.”

“I -- what?” Tisha desperately searched around the room for a way out but saw no escape from this strange debt collector or the apparent arson he’d committed in her house. “Look, I don’t know how you know all of that stuff about me, but I can pay you. I still have the house I can mortgage. Please, don’t hurt me.”

“I don’t want your house or your money!” The purple-hued man laughed.

His eyes, so sharp and cruel, crinkled at the corners in juxtaposition. He really looked so familiar -- the angle of his square jaw, the wryness of his smile…

“Your man beseeched me for a boon not long ago and I granted it. I have come to collect. Since he isn’t here, it’s your duty to pay up.”

A parchment scroll suddenly appeared in the air, fully displaying Jeremy’s trademark scrawl. Before she could read it, the faded contract rolled up into itself and disappeared.

“Boon?” Tisha trembled. “You mean like, um, a wish? Are you a genie, then?”

A whoosh of hot air blew back Tisha’s hair from her face and instantly, the dark monster stood right in front of her, towering over and nearly touching her.

“Do I look like a genie, my dear?” he murmured into her ear.

That definitely leaves me wanting more!

While I find Bane fascinating, I can't say I'd like to stay longer in Hell, however I would like to find out what happens to him and Tisha. If you would too, check out:
