The Saturday Book Diver Interviews Terra from The Demon’s Mate by Sam Cheever

Welcome to the Saturday Book Diver! Every weekend I dive into fictional worlds to bring you interviews with fantastic characters.

The word fantastic definitely applies to the experiences of the character I’m talking to today.

At the moment I’m on the rooftop of the castle of the King of Sheoldris. Sheoldris is a subterranean demon world. King Jacobin has claimed Terra and she has agreed to allow us a glimpse into her magical life.

Standing across from me on the rooftop, Terra glances around, as if expecting someone else to appear. Might she be waiting for Jacobin himself? It’s hard to say. Terra is a beautiful woman who stands about five feet six inches tall. She has a slim build and large breasts. It’s easy to see why the king desires her.

Her white-blond hair whips about her in the breeze and her blue gaze fixes on me as the interview begins.

SBD: Thank you for talking to us, Terra. From what I’ve heard, your life is a bit similar to mine, except that I don’t get to bond with a hunky demon lord. But I digress. As a book diver, I magically travel to fictional worlds and you’ve been drawn into one to mate with the King of Sheoldris. Would you explain how that happened?

Terra:  I wish I knew. One minute I was just sitting there, reading my book about a sexy demon king and the next Jacobin was knocking on my door. It turns out his sister, Cybele scribed the book I was reading and that’s how they found me. The details are still fuzzy. All I know is I shouldn’t have thrown the book into the fire. Bad…really bad. [shakes head]

SBD: How would you describe Jacobin?

Terra: He’s just so hawt! And I know what you’re thinkin’. He’s a demon from Hell so of course he’s hot. You’d be hot too if you lived beside the fiery pits. But that’s not what I meant. Besides, Sheoldris is in the Hell dimension but it’s not near the pits. Jacobin promised to take me there some day for barbeque…

SBD: Um, Terra…

Terra: Oh. Sorry, I got sidetracked. Jacobin? He’s a big guy, really wide shoulders, hard as a rock pecs, with these sexy little curved horns on the sides of his head. He has black hair that’s so soft and silky, it frames a square jaw and the most perfect lips. [she sighs] He’s just so damn sexy. Are we done here? I have to go jump a demon.

SBD: Not quite. What is one of Jacobin’s sexiest traits?

Terra: The way he can go from being all growly and alpha one minute to being a tender, considerate lover the next. So yummy…

SBD: How about his most frustrating trait?

Terra: He’s bossy. Very. Bossy. We’re working on the whole, “I’m a king and you must obey me” thing. But he’s had centuries to perfect it and the training is going slow.

SBD: How do you feel about being swept away by a demon lord?

Terra: Pretty damn good overall. I’ll admit I had my reservations at first. I miss my BFFs and my family. But Jacobin has promised me a visit back home as soon as the current crisis is over.”

SBD: Crisis?

Terra: Yeah, Jacobin’s sister Cybele has been taken by ghouls. (shivers) Nasty critters, ghouls. He’s working with scribes right now to try and save her.

SBD: Would you share one of your favorite excerpts from The Demon’s Mate?

Terra: Sure, here ya go. But you’d better have a fan nearby!

Terra tried to pull the wispy little robe she’d been wearing back around her body but it was worse than useless as a covering. It had been sheer enough when dry. Soaked through, it was little more than a frame for her nakedness as she tried to climb out of the tub.
“Stop! The next time I’ll carry you back into the water and hold you on my lap as I bathe you.”
She sucked in a breath as he tugged the sexy leather down his dense thighs and over his big feet. When he straightened again, a cock that looked the thickness of her wrist sprang into view. It was long and perfect and hard enough to hurt someone, with huge, heavy balls hanging beneath it.
Too late, Terra realized she’d been staring. She started to climb out but his voice stopped her.
“Do you like what you see, mate?” His sexy voice had dropped another octave and slipped along her skin like a caress. Terra’s body tightened with lust, her pussy clenching around a sudden wave of need. She found she couldn’t speak, so she turned away, moving as far away from him as the large pool would allow.
She heard him enter the water and looked around with desperation for a way to escape. High, windowless marble walls surrounded the pool on three sides, and she’d have to move past him to climb from the open side. So she hunched down in the water and held the robe tightly against her body.
The water moved around her shoulders in soft ripples, and Terra jumped as his hands came around her waist. She cried out as he pulled her backward and did as he’d threatened, holding her on his lap.
His thick cock nudged against her buttocks, and she barely resisted the urge to rub her bottom against it. She closed her eyes, but only so she could concentrate on breathing without movement. One strong arm banded her waist like a vise and a big hand slipped up one of her thighs. She sucked in a breath at the silky feel of soap sliding over her skin.
His hot breath fanned her ear, and his heart beat a steady staccato against her back. “You have such exquisite skin, woman.” He nuzzled her throat. “And you smell like vanilla and roses.”
Terra didn’t trust herself to speak so she said nothing, but it was all she could do not to open her thighs as the hand bearing the bar of soap slid between her knees and pushed its way upward. Finally she lost the battle, and he was skimming that silky substance over her inner thigh, up along her belly, and down over the other thigh.
Terra swallowed hard and forced herself to take a breath. Her body was taut like a bowstring, and her pussy clenched and unclenched with a need so great her nipples stung under it. No doubt trying to torture her, the demon king deliberately avoided rubbing the soap over her pussy. Without conscious thought, Terra opened her legs in silent entreaty. Need coiled so tightly in her belly that it was painful, and all she wanted in that moment was relief.
His hand skimmed up her torso, shoving her arms out of the way so the useless wrap drifted away from her breasts. Her nipples were painfully hard with anticipation as his big hand rubbed gentle circles along her belly and ribs. Terra fought the urge to touch herself, forcing her fingers into fists that floated at her sides.
The massive shaft beneath her buttocks jumped, and he lifted his hips to drive it against her. “Your body wants me, mate.”
She shook her head but sucked in a quiet gasp as his big hand slipped over her breast. He spread silky suds across the swollen mound, his fingers tweaking the rigid peak with gentle interest.
“Such luscious buds, ready for me to taste.” Against her will, Terra’s head dropped back, resting against his shoulder, and his lips found the side of her throat. “Would you like for me to taste them, mate? Would you like me to fill my mouth with your lovely nipples, sucking them into heat as my cock plunges deep within your sex?” He lifted her until his cock was freed from her buttocks.
Terra nearly moaned as his hand found the other nipple and his cock sprang up between her legs, nudging the throbbing knot of lust at the apex of her thighs. Despite her body’s obvious appreciation of his attention, Terra shook her head, though her denial emerged in a breathless moan. “No.”
The arm that had been holding her around the waist moved, his hand sliding down to press his shaft against her clit. She moaned, arching up to move against him. “Your lips say no, but your body screams yes. Will you always be so difficult to bed?”

Despite the aura of danger about the castle, I wish I could talk to Terra longer. Unfortunately the book diver magic is calling me out of this world, but I’m eager to learn more about what happens to Terra and her demon lord. If you are too, check out

The Saturday Book Diver Interviews Max Winters from Her Sexy Side by Ayla Ruse

Good morning! Welcome to the Saturday Book Diver! Every weekend I dive into fictional worlds to bring you interviews with sexy and exciting characters.

Today I’m talking to Max Winters, a visual artist. Max has invited me to his home and at the moment we’re seated in his office. He offers me a comfortable chair and while he settles into his own, I glance around the room. The walls are covered with various artwork. I ask if they’re his and he tells me that some are, but others have been done by other artists.

Max is a tall, handsome man with a lean body that reminds me of a swimmer or runner. He stares at me with calm brown eyes, waiting for the interview to begin.

SBD: Thank you for agreeing to this interview, Max. What made you become an artist?

Max:  I don’t think anything made me become an artist; it’s always been a part of me. My Grandmother was a terrific artist. Very gifted. I…well, you could say I inherited her special gift.

SBD: I understand you have a young son. Would you tell us a bit about him?

Max: [Smiles] Raymond. Yes. He’s amazing. He’s six years old but I swear, sometimes he makes me think he’s sixteen. Some people would say I’m overprotective, but he’s my life. I wouldn’t know what to do without him. Being a widow and raising a son alone can be difficult, but if that’s what life has in store for me, I have no complaints.

SBD: It sounds like you’re a dedicated Dad and that’s great. I’ve heard that one of Max’s teachers, Kiera Long, is a special lady. How would you describe Kiera?

Max: Kiera is…she’s pure light, and pure sexiness beneath the conservative clothes she wears. Words like sweet and kind and understanding are not deep enough, rich enough, to touch on all that she is. I’ll confess, I’ve wanted to get to know her for a couple years now, but the timing is always wrong. We’ve had parent-teacher conferences, you know, the standard meetings, but our discussions are about Raymond. I’ve been burnt in love before, and it’s risky to open up, especially to someone like her.

It’s obvious he feels a lot for Kiera and I can’t help wondering if she knows how lucky she is.

SBD: It sounds like she would make a fascinating subject for an artist. Have you ever sketched her?

Max: [He rubs his hand over his face and glances away.] Have I ever sketched her? [another long pause] This interview stays behind adult content warnings, right? Because I can tell you, Kiera would not have a thing to do with anything adult content. [waits for SBD to nod] Good. Then yes, I’ve sketched her. Hell, I can’t get her out of my mind. I have pages of Kiera, all in my notebook right here. [He reaches over and taps a leather bound folder on the desk behind him.]

SBD: Can I see some of them?

Max: Well now, no. I don’t mean to be rude, but, I’m going to let you in on a secret few people know. Sometimes, when I truly want something, my desires become a part of what I sketch. And as much as I want Kiera, my wanting of her is poured into the drawings. If I were to show you one, [he shrugs] you might end up turned on beyond your wildest dreams.

SBD: No problem. I understand. Would you share one of your favorite excerpts from Her Sexy Side?

Max looked across his coffee table to where Kiera sat in one of the living room chairs and reflected on how great a night he’d had. They’d gone to dinner at a new Italian restaurant and stayed for coffee and dessert before he’d gone out on a limb and invited her back to his place. His son was enjoying a rare sleepover, spending the night at his grandparents’ house, and Max hadn’t been ready to leave Kiera’s company.

His gaze darted to the hallway over her shoulder and he sighed silently. Maybe in the back of his mind he’d invited her in, hoping for more, but he knew his chances were slim.

One day he hoped to lead her to his bedroom. With her being as conservative as she seemed, though, he knew it’d be a while before they’d take that step. He had no problem with waiting. Hell, he’d wanted her for nearly two years. Only now, having her here, the temptation was all that much stronger.

Max flexed the fingers of his left hand, his drawing hand, the hand that could pour his burdensome gift of influence into anything he drew. He wanted Kiera, all right, but he wanted her to come to him willingly, on her own and not because he’d forced her with his pictures.

As they continued to talk, his thoughts kept trailing to her outfit and what she’d look like beneath the black, fitted, long-sleeved shirt. He couldn’t help it. She was gorgeous. The ends of the scarf at her neck teased over her full breasts, and a long, straight skirt in a black-and-white pattern led his eye to her small, heeled boots. Despite how amazing she looked, he knew she wasn’t a vixen. Her dress, her speech and her attitude screamed conservative, which normally turned him off. But Kiera made conservative look damn sexy. Or it could be his thoughts of what she’d look like beneath the clothes and of how she’d respond to being in his bed. All these thoughts had led to the pictures he’d drawn of her that she’d found in her classroom.

It’d also led to the picture he’d sketched on a scratch sheet of paper when she’d excused herself to go to the bathroom a few minutes ago. When she’d returned, he’d flipped it over and set his glass of water over it. These pictures were for his eyes only. Especially when they were so infused with his desires.

He shifted in his seat, his cock growing hard at his own fantasies. It was time to call it a night.

“I love that story, Kiera,” he said, leaning over to snag their glasses from the table while trying to will away his erection. “I have to tell you, I’m glad you accepted my date.”

“I’m glad you asked,” she responded, smiling in a way that made his toes curl. It wasn’t seductive or provocative, it was simply honest. He took a deep breath, hoped his cock behaved, stood quickly and walked around the couch.

“Are you ready for me to take you home?” Max carried their glasses to the kitchen, listening for her confirmation. It might be rude of him, but having her this close to his bed, this late at night, was beginning to wear on his control.

Her silence made him double back. “Kiera?” She jumped and turned as if he’d spooked her. “You okay?” he asked. “Ready to go?”

She stood slowly and never let her eyes fall from his. Max shifted, wondering why she wasn’t agreeing with him to take her home.

“I thought Raymond was staying with your parents tonight?” she asked.

He coughed lightly. “Um, yes. He is.” He stuck his hands in the pockets of his slacks and jiggled the car keys.

She smiled again, but this time the ends of her lips curled in a way that made her seem wicked all of a sudden. Damn. He fisted his hands to keep from dragging her close and kissing those teasing lips.

“You don’t have a curfew, do you?” she asked.

“Ah, no.” He puzzled at her abrupt change in attitude. She was all of a sudden acting like she wanted him to make a move on her. He’d been a fool to think coming to his place was a good idea.

“But Max,” she said slowly, her voice having dropped, “I’m not ready to leave.”

Their eyes met, held, and the next thing he knew, she flung herself toward him and kissed him clumsily, but with everything she had.

The excerpt has definitely roused my interest!

It’s about time for me to leave Max’s world. The Book Diver magic is ebbing, but as I go, I hope that Max and Kiera will find happiness together. If you want to see how their story turns out, check out

The Saturday Book Diver Interviews Eric from the Dark Reign Series by Mychael Black

Welcome to the Saturday Book Diver where every weekend we dive into fictional worlds for interviews with intriguing characters.

It’s just after midnight, so technically it’s the morning but still dark enough for me to meet with the man I’m interviewing.

Eric Salvatore is a vampire-werewolf hybrid and I have to say it’s an incredible combination. He has long black hair and some very sexy facial scruff. He’s standing by a big picture window here in the office of his pack’s Alpha. He turns to me with his penetrating amber eyes and gestures for me to take a seat in one of the two plush chairs. Then he settles into the chair behind the desk. Even though he’s not the pack Alpha, he exudes power.

Still held captive by those amber eyes, I begin the interview.

SBD: Eric, thank you for talking to us today. What is it like to be both a vampire and a werewolf?

Eric:  Thank you for coming by so late. As for your question, in a nutshell: terrifying. I've always been an outcast because of it, even though I was never given a choice. Beyond that, however, I possess more abilities than my fellow wolves and vampires. Aside from grievous wounds, I heal faster than both species.

SBD: [Glancing at the sword and dagger Eric carries at his hips.] I notice you have some serious weapons. Is it usual for people to carry them around here?

Eric: No, it is not. You would be hard pressed to find another sword anywhere in this house. Wolves kill with their claws and teeth, but before Daniel came along, no one knew I was a wolf. Everyone assumed I was simply just another vampire. Decapitation is the best way to kill one of us.

SBD: I’ve heard a man named Daniel Hughes has been living under the protection of your pack. What can you tell us about him?

Eric: Daniel has been here far longer than myself. He's kind and a bit of a romantic, though he may not readily admit it. And he makes a mean Screwdriver.

SBD: It sounds like he’s a fascinating guy and the two of you are quite close. How close?

Eric: Inseparable. He is my mate. When I first met him, I knew exactly what he was to me. He seemed a bit...reticent in pursuing anything, but my wolf would not be denied. Daniel is the sole reason I am here, where before, I had little reason to go on.

SBD: If you had to describe Daniel in just three words, what would they be?

Eric: Gorgeous, hardworking, loyal.

SBD: Would you share one of your favorite excerpts from Fight or Flight?

Eric:

The front gates opened as I neared them and the guard waved. I ran around back and skidded to a stop. There was someone outside, all right: Eric. Shirtless, coatless. Swinging his sword against an invisible foe. I sat down hard and watched in fascination as the vampire spun and parried, dancing like he weighed no more than a feather. Moonlight reflected off the steel blade and the sheen of sweat covering Eric’s muscles.

My God, the man was perfection.

My heart started pounding, and my cock began to take notice. I had to get inside or risk blowing my cover from where I hid behind a bush. Eric’s graceful sparring didn’t help matters in the least. I wanted to lick the sweat from his pale skin.

He pivoted and froze, sword point aimed directly toward me. The sword lowered, and he inclined his head in what I assumed was a greeting. If I left the bush now, there’d be no hiding the erection. A werewolf’s dick was larger than a normal dog’s… or a man’s.

Eric smirked and gestured toward the house. Then he went over and opened the door for me. I tried thinking about anything but that expanse of slick flesh tempting me. Praying he didn’t notice anything, I bolted from my hiding spot and hauled my furry ass into the house. His laughter followed me all the way to my room. I shifted outside my room and darted inside, closing the door behind me.

Then I fell back against it, panting and hard as a rock. So much for thinking it away. I closed my eyes and struggled to control my breathing. Never had a man gotten me so worked up. Time to drag out my trunk of toys. I went to my closet and pulled the wooden box to the bed. When I opened it, I couldn’t help but lick my lips. Cocks, plugs, a set of sounds, vibrators -- it all called to me, begging for a bit of playtime. I grabbed the lube from the bedside table and rummaged until I found a flesh-colored dildo as thick as my wrist. I hadn’t used it in a while, and the slight burn felt amazing.

Just as I scooted back onto the bed, legs splayed open, the air in the room changed. My breath caught. No. No, no, no…

A great excerpt, but it’s not enough for me. I want to know the rest of their story. Unfortunately, the book diver magic is calling me and I need to leave this world, but I can hardly wait to find out what happens to Eric and Daniel.

The Saturday Book Diver Interviews Austin from Gascon Victors and the Hunky Handyman by Kate Hill

Good morning! Welcome to the Saturday Book Diver where every weekend we dive into fictional worlds for interviews with intriguing characters.

This morning I’m outside a lovely country house in New England talking to landscaper Austin Johnson. He’s tall and lanky with disheveled black hair and gorgeous blue eyes.

Despite his easygoing manner, it’s easy to see that Austin was once a soldier. He has the posture and confidence of a military man.

He and his crew obviously have a lot of work ahead of them, so I jump into the interview.

SBD: Austin, thank you for talking to us today. You’re new in this town, but you seem to have made some friends already.

Austin:  It’s a great town. I’ve always liked the country and my new landscaping business is doing well. I also do repairs and stuff like that, so if you know anyone in need of work, I give free estimates.

SBD: [Grins] That’s good to know. I’ll keep that in mind. Right now we’re at the home of Alice Brown. What can you tell us about her?

Austin: Alice. Wow. I don’t want to say too much because she’s a customer and I don’t like to gossip, but she’s great. Talented. Beautiful. Kind. She’s a piano teacher and a tutor. Her students love her and that’s really easy to do.

By the gleam in his eyes when he talks about Alice, it’s obvious he has a major crush on her.

SBD: I’ve heard you’re still single and so is Alice. Do you think there’s a chance of you two getting together?

Austin:  I don’t date customers, but once I’m finished with this job, I’m almost hoping she won’t hire me again because I would love to take her out. I’m not exactly sure how she feels about me, though. Sometimes she goes from hot to cold, but I think that’s because she’s a reserved person. I kinda hope she’s as interested in me as I am in her.

SBD: I understand you used to be a soldier?

Austin: Yeah. I’m proud to have served my country, but right now I’m looking forward to expanding my business and hopefully starting a family. Between you and me, I’d love a woman like Alice. She’s smart, sexy and makes a mean lemonade.

I can’t help chuckling. Austin seems like a great guy. It’s hard to believe Alice wouldn’t notice him.

SBD: What three words do you think best describe Alice?

Austin: [His brow furrows as he thinks, then he smiles again.] Classy, mysterious, and sexy.

SBD: Would you share one of your favorite excerpts from Gascon Victors and the Hunky Handyman?

Austin: Sure. Here goes.

The piano music stopped and Austin was about to knock again when the door opened.

A lovely woman with brown eyes and dark, silky hair glanced up at him. A floral print dress in pastel shades draped her curvy figure. Strangely, just looking at her made Austin’s heart skip a beat.

Finding his voice, he shouted above the two howling dogs -- a basset and a beagle -- standing beside her, “Hi. I’m Austin Johnson. My crew and I are ready to start work. I wanted to let you know we’re here.”

He smiled.

She didn’t.

“Thank you,” she said and was about to shut the door, but he stopped her, placing his hand on it.

“Gascon said you wanted to talk about a new project.”

“Yes, but right now I’m in the middle of a lesson.” She glanced at the dogs and snapped, “Quiet!”

“Of course. When you’re free just let me know.” He turned and headed toward the truck, but couldn’t resist glancing at her over his shoulder.

To his surprise, she was staring after him as well. When their gazes locked, she quickly shut the door.

That was a great glimpse of Austin and Alice’s first meeting. It’s obvious how much he likes her, so I truly hope she gives him a chance.

If you hope so too and would like to find out what happens to them, visit:

The Saturday Book Diver Interviews Canna from Hard as a Rock by Sara Jay

Good morning! Welcome to the Saturday Book Diver!

Since I interview fictional characters, many of them are unusual. Today I have a particularly unique interviewee. Canna is a lovely green fairy with a problem. She has fallen in love with a gargoyle, the one we’re looking at right now from where we stand in the human sex club on this futuristic world.

SBD: Canna, thank you for talking to us. What made you fall in love with a gargoyle?

Canna: [Sighs] Just look at him! Who wouldn’t want to be his mate? His face, his body… It’s like he was built just for me. I like to play with all of the humans here. They’re so much fun! But my gargoyle is the one I like to play with best.

The Gargoyle is hot looking. I can see the attraction.

SBD: Do you have any way of communicating with him, even though he’s inanimate?

Canna: Of course not, he’s not real… [Pauses] Wait, do you know something I don’t know?

SBD: I don’t think so. The book diver magic doesn’t always give me a lot of insight until I talk to the characters. What do some of your fantasies about the gargoyle  include?

Canna: Oh, I’ve done just about anything you can do to him already! [Winks] My fantasy is that one day he’ll come to life and take me the way I’ve taken him so many times. He’ll claim me and make me his, forever, making love to me in the night sky against the moon and stars… [Laughs] But I know that will never happen.

SBD: Do you feel there might be magic at work here? That maybe this gargoyle is more than what he seems to be?

Canna: Oh, yes. I mean, he’s obviously just a statue, but he looks SO real! It feels like he can see me, feel me, but I know better.

SBD: Would you share one of your favorite excerpts from Hot as a Rock?

Her obsidian god stared back at her.
She shrank back down to human size and sighed.
The creature wasn’t real, of course. In fact, its purpose was mainly aesthetic. Few people climbed onto the fierce gargoyle guarding the doorway into the rest of the club. Canna certainly didn’t mind; it made him all the more her property.
Seven feet of black volcanic rock loomed over patrons’ heads. His mouth pulled back in a menacing growl, only partly open. Long black hair draped down his back as shiny and lifelike as any centaur’s. His half-extended wings nearly touched the floor. They flanked a trunk bulging with muscle and strength, scarred with streaks that must have been from being moved around over the years. Had he been a real gargoyle, the sculpture would undoubtedly lead his pride as an alpha.
His cock stood out and slightly upward from his body, shining with a black gleam. Longer than her arm, it had taken some getting used to even in her fairy form. Why bother magically stretching to accommodate such girth when the fill of it was so delicious, anyway?
She called him Goliath, like the giant brought down by a rock as solid as he was. As with every statue and machine in the Pleasure Club, he was warm and life-like to the touch. In previous centuries, his stature would crack beneath such use. Current standards for precious stones dictated chemical treatment for lasting durability.
That durability guaranteed her play toy a life nearly as endless as her own.
He often cooled in the daytime hours, however, which Canna attributed to lack of power. Some exhibits simply warranted less electricity due to their infrequent use. His volcanic glass could also be to blame. Had he been real, his stone body would cool during the day as well.
“My rock-hard giant,” she murmured, running her glittery green fingernails up his enormous bicep. Curling herself into his form playfully, she marveled at how their bodies practically glowed against one another. Her bare, sea foam skin and emerald hair sharply contrasted against his iron-like sheen.
Twirling back out to face him, her grass-green eyes sparkled up at his stone irises. His eyes bore back into hers, their inky depths casting dual black holes for her to fall into. The pupils had been etched quite realistically, with swirls of varying shades of ebony. Not for the first time, she sensed wild life within them.
For a second, he felt really alive, really there to take her and mark her as his Mate, forever. Hand still on his arm, she fluttered up toward his mouth, eyes never leaving his, as if pulled by his magnetic ore. Her lips grazed his open mouth, tongue sliding over his teeth and body quivering.

Intriguing!

As I leave Canna’s world, I can’t help feeling sorry for her and hoping that through some kind of magic, she and her gorgeous gargoyle might be united after all. If you’d like to find out what happens too, check out

The Saturday Book Diver Interviews Kaeden from Private Skirmish by Anne Kane

Hello and welcome to the Saturday Book Diver.

Although I’m here on another planet in the fictional world of the Mercenaries series, when I look at my interviewee, I almost feel as if I'm in the Viking age. Kaeden is a big, blond hunky warrior.

We're sitting in the Shotgun Bar and I have to admit, if I wasn't in Kaeden's company, I'd be a bit concerned. The bar is filled with rough-looking characters.

The barmaid brings our drinks and the interview begins.

SBD:  I understand you recently made an amazing purchase at the local auction. Would you tell us about her?

Kaeden: Yes, dumb as it sounds I actually had to buy the love of my life after she ran off and left me. Dee and I had been together for a few years, and I thought we were getting along pretty good. Frankly, I would have married her if she’d been willing and us merc's aren't usually the marrying kind. Then she just up and took off without any warning. I tried to give her some space, let her come back on her own, you know? But when I found out she’d been arrested and would be up for auction, I figured it was time to interfere. There’s no way another man was going to lay his hands on my woman.

It sounds like this is going to be an exciting story. I can't wait to hear more.

SBD: So you and Dee have a past? Since you bought her, you must have hope for a future as well?

Kaeden: [Crooked grin on his face.] Hell yeah! She’s mine and she knows it. I might have let her get away once, but that’s it. From here on in, she’s not going anywhere without me. If I have to, I will invoke the ownership thing to keep her by my side.

SBD: Describe Dee in three words.

Kaeden: Sexy, independent and frustrating!

SBD: What's the sexiest thing about Dee?

Kaeden: Oh, that’s a hard one. Let me think.  Hmmmm. You know she’s got a body that makes me go hard the minute she walks into the room but that’s not really it. I think the sexiest thing about her is her attitude. She is one damn fine woman, and she knows it and she expects to be treated right. Yup. Definitely the attitude.

SBD: Do you think you and your band of mercenaries will succeed in reuniting Dee with her sister? How dangerous will this be?

Kaeden: It’s important to Dee so of course we’ll succeed. I’m sure as hell not going to be the one to tell her she’s not going to see her little sister again. It’s going to be dangerous, though. Not going to lie. Those guys are almost as tough as we are, and they aren't going to want to give her up.

SBD: Would you share one of your favorite excerpts from Private Skirmish?

Kaeden: Sure

EXCERPT:

“Is this really necessary? I feel like I’m naked, and that’s not very reassuring when we’re heading out on a mission.” Dee frowned at her reflection in the mirror.

Kaeden felt the corner of his mouth twitch with the effort not to grin as he admired the way the synthetic material clung to her slender form. She was right. The tight material made her slender figure look even more tempting than if she were totally unclothed. There was something to be said about leaving a little bit to the imagination. Right now he could imagine how the soft mounds of her breasts would feel beneath his hands.

His cock swelled behind the restricting material of his jeans, and he gave an inward sigh. It felt like he’d been walking about with a massive hard-on ever since he’d seen her picture up on that auction site. It didn't matter how many times they’d had sex in the past week, he still wanted her with the unbridled enthusiasm of a teenager with his first crush.

Walking up behind her, he wrapped his arms around her waist and nuzzled the soft skin of her neck. “You know it is. These guys don’t see women as anything other than entertainment or broodmares. If you want to come with us you have to look like you belong to the team, and I mean that literally. The target will underestimate you if you look like just another slave girl.”

Dee sighed heavily, leaning back against him and causing his cock to jump eagerly. “I know. I just don’t like it.”

Kaeden nibbled the skin of her neck, just where it disappeared under the bright blue material. “You keep rubbing against me like that, I’ll take this damn suit off myself.”

Dee turned in the circle of his arms and ran one hand down his chest to the waistband of his pants. “You know it’s going to take Jackson a bit of time to get the equipment on the Hummer tuned into the all province system. I bet we have enough time for me to take care of this pesky little problem for you.” She fondled the growing lump through the tough material of his pants, and the curve of her lip was sheer seductive magic.

Kaeden raised his eyebrows. “Little problem? I hardly think that qualifies as little or a problem. I seem to recall you being quite happy with the results last night.”

Dee grinned. “Perhaps I've underestimated the issue. Let’s take a look.” She quickly unzipped his pants, and squatted to skim them and his shorts down over his hips.
Kaeden groaned as his cock sprang free. The woman had no scruples, but damn that felt good!

Dee sank back on her knees, tracing a line down his aching shaft from the tip to the tangle of curls at the base. “You have no idea how much I've missed this.”

He begged to differ. He couldn't begin to count the number of nights he’d tossed and turned, unable to sleep without her warm presence by his side. When he had managed to close his eyes, the nightmares had haunted him. Dreams of her being hurt, hunted, abused by the multitudes of monsters that haunted their post-apocalyptic world. Not knowing where she was had been pure torture. She was his whole world, even though he’d never admitted it to her, and he’d failed to keep her safely at his side.

He wasn't about to let that happen again. He would do whatever it took to make sure she stayed with him. If she needed to go rescue her sister, the team would make sure that happened. “You might have to take that suit off after all.” He tugged the material down over her shoulders.

Without a word, Dee stood and shrugged out of the outfit with a sensual grace that sent his lust spiralling even higher. The soft smile that curved her lips let him know that she knew the effect the sight of her naked body had on him.

Dropping back to her knees, she gently cupped his balls, squeezing the sensitive sac gently. Tongues of liquid heat roared through him. He closed his eyes, winding his fingers in her long hair as waves of lust swept him up. Peeking up at him from under her lashes, Dee wrapped her lips around the head of his cock, her tongue tracing the slit in the center.

Passion flared between them, raw and hot. It had always been this way. Out of control. Flaring instantly at a glance, a touch. She slid her tongue along the bulging vein that ran the length of his cock, and then slid the head into her mouth and began to suck.

Kaeden growled low in his throat, not even trying to control his reactions as he rocked his hips, fucking her face while she worked her way up and down his stiff shaft. This is what mattered. Him. Her. Them

I think I need an ice bath after that one!

Despite the peril surrounding Kaeden and Dee, I’m reluctant to leave this world without finding out how their story turns out. If you’re curious too, check out

The Saturday Book Diver Interviews Jack Brannard from Terms of Payment by Sarah Barimen

Good morning! Welcome to the Saturday Book Diver!

Today we’re talking to Jack Brannard, demon in training. The book diver magic has whisked me to Jack’s office on the top floor of a skyscraper. The large windows offer a breathtaking view of the city, but the demon before me is even more pleasing to the eye.

Seated in a leather chair behind his mahogany desk, Jack studies me with gorgeous brown eyes that seem to glow with a strange inner light. He’s quite handsome with cropped brown hair, cheekbones a model would envy and a lithe, slender body accentuated by his custom made suite.

Despite my host’s charming expression and stunning good looks, I’m on my proverbial toes. I’ve been warned that Jack is out to collect souls and if I’m not careful, even the book diver magic won’t be able to save me.

SBD: Jack, thank you for taking the time to talk to me. I know you have a tight schedule, so I’ll get right down to business. Why did you make a deal with the devil?

Jack: I wasn’t using my soul. Hardly anyone in the City does. I’m sure you understand how that happens, what with all the hustling to get ahead. I saw a chance to fly high and far. Of course I took it.” He smiles secretively. “I didn’t understand how the payments were going to be taken, but I’ve never regretted a moment. Not once.” He chuckles and waggles his eyebrows. “Well maybe the first time. But I got over it.”

SBD: How many souls must you collect to pay your debt?

Jack: I fear you’ve misunderstood how it works. My debt is already paid in full, taken in a series of small payments until it was gone. Now I’m employed as a collector. I take from those whose debt is not paid up.

SBD:  I understand that a demon named Darius was the collector assigned to you. Tell us about him.

Jack: Mmmn. Oh, God, where do I start? Tall, lean, handsome. He wears a suit like it was invented just for him. He smells like the most expensive cologne you’ve ever imagined, and to be honest, I’m not sure he wears any.” He rolls his shoulders back. “When he’s a man, he’s insatiable and dominant, and yet perfectly willing to let me top him.” He flashes a brilliant smile. “I can hardly complain.

SBD: It sounds like he’s a hard demon to resist. What’s Darius’ sexiest characteristic?
Jack:  At any moment, he might change into his taking-form, the great winged gargoyle. He can’t take my soul anymore, since I don’t have one, but he can take me.” He shudders. “Teeth and claws. And he never hurts me. Much.

SBD: Would you share one of your favorite excerpts from Terms of Payment?

You’ve heard of blowjobs in the car, right? In the typical fantasy, usually, the man is driving at the time, yet he somehow manages to ride the wave to heaven while simultaneously not crashing, swerving, or drawing the attention of concerned citizens and state patrol officers, right? Let me tell you something: I’d have crashed if my car hadn’t already been parked nose-in to a brick wall. I’d never even dreamed -- I keep saying that, don’t I? -- of having a man blow me in the seat of a Jaguar or anywhere else, and the fact that after the first few strokes of his tongue he wasn’t even a man, and a fist-sized wing knuckle hung over my head while the front windshield was pretty much obliterated by his other wing, really doesn’t change anything.

I’ll tell you this much for nothing: if I hadn’t already sold my soul, I’d have done it in a heartbeat for head that amazing, and it just went on and on. His tongue swirled and massaged along the underside of my shaft and nudged the base of the head in ways that made me levitate out of my Corinthian leather seat. My hips began to jerk and my breathing turned ragged, and by the time I realized that the light scraping I felt against my cock wasn’t coming from human teeth, it was much too late for me to give a damn. And the closer I came to heaven, as the saying goes, the more fragments of my soul he scraped away, layer by layer. I didn’t care. I felt every one, as I felt his fingers wend their way where I’d have sworn fabric impeded. He found my balls and rolled them gently, and then he hummed low in his throat. Bass vibrato, bay-bee, and oh, my God, what felt like every nerve in my body took a temporary leave of absence and moved south to take advantage of the thrumming. I tried to put my hands on top of his head so I could have some leverage, but he growled in a way that was definitely nothing like the hum, so I put my hands on top of my own head instead, fingers clenched in my hair.

My eyes wouldn’t stay open, but I wanted to watch his head moving, to tie every movement to a sensation, to see me slide in and out --

I heard myself say, between one gasp and another, “I’m gonna come!” though I don’t know if it was in warning or exultation. His mouth ground down around my cock, engulfing me with wet heat and sweet, agonizing pressure. My flayed soul bled, and I came, screaming, fists clenched and trying not to touch him. I came and came, and he swallowed me up.

That was scorching!

I feel the book diver magic calling me, so I don’t have much more time in this world. Jack’s story has intrigued me and I’m more curious than ever about Darius. If you are too, check out

The Saturday Book Diver Interviews Captain Carter Therres from the Coriolis Series by Mychael Black

Good morning and welcome to the Saturday Book Diver!

Today I’m pleased and honored to interview Captain Carter Therres, the man in charge of the military recon vessel called the Coriolis.

At the moment I’m standing in the captain’s cabin, a room that reflects the personality of its occupant. The lower half of the room has a large bed and a sitting area with a table, a chair and a small couch. In the upper half of the room stands a metal desk with a computer terminal and a chair. The room has a crisp, businesslike atmosphere, but according to rumor in the fictional world, more than rest and planning military strategy goes on here.

Although Captain Therres is boy-next-door handsome with spiky black hair and a lean, muscular build, his steel gray eyes reveal courage, strength and a stubborn streak that one must possess to make it as a soldier. The Captain is dressed down at the moment, wearing dark pants and a T-shirt that says “Local Marines.”

He offers me a handshake, invites me to sit, then waits for me to get down to business.

SBD: Captain, I know you’re a busy man, so thank you for taking the time to do this interview. How long have you been Captain of the Coriolis?

CT: Thank you as well. As for how long I've had this position...wow. Probably about seven years or so. This was my first command, though I've been in the Local Marines since I was twenty.

SBD: Right now you have Dr. Ash Mracek aboard. I’ve heard you met under dire circumstances. What happened?

CT: Well, as you might have noticed with the heightened security and the need to meet on such an out-of-the-way outpost, things back on Earth--namely with the Syndicate--basically went belly-up. We've discovered some interesting things, Dr. Mracek being one of them. We were sent to rescue him when his scientific research vessel, the Maelstrom, was attacked. I don't know if you've seen a Revenant, but they aren't exactly friendly. Dr. Mracek was the only survivor we found aboard the Maelstrom.

SBD: What three words best describe Dr. Mracek?

CT: Let's see... quiet, gorgeous, brilliant.

While the Captain is talking, Dr. Mracek himself steps into the room. An attractive man with an aristocratic face and light brown hair that he wears braided down his back, the doctor studies us with discerning hazel eyes. He appears keenly interested in what his companion is saying.

As a Book Diver, this is an exciting moment for me. I’m thrilled for the chance to talk to both heroes of Distress Signal during the same trip to their world.

SBD: Dr. Mracek, I’m happy to meet you. Would you answer a few questions as well?

AM: I suppose I could, yes. What would you like to know?

SBD: How do you feel about Captain Therres’ response to the last question and what three words do you think best describe him?

AM: Oh. [He blushes a little.] I think Carter--Captain Therres--may be a bit biased. As for my opinion of him? [He smiles over at the Captain.] Strong, dependable, stunning.

SBD: Captain, do you have anything you’d like to say regarding the doctor’s choice of words to describe you?

CT: [Laughs] Well, the first two? A soldier has to be both, for himself and those who need him. The stunning bit? Given last night, I'm surprised the good Doc didn't come up with something a bit more...colorful.

Dr. Mracek squirms a little in his chair, a slight blush coloring his cheeks.

SBD: Gentlemen, how would you describe your first kiss?

CT: A thing of beauty. The moment I saw Ash drop down out of a maintenance shaft on the Maelstrom, I had to have him. The first kiss happened once we got onboard the Coriolis. He'd just stepped out of the shower in nothing but a towel. How could I resist?

AM: Yes, well, at least it didn't shock you. Do you have any idea how long it had been since I even touched another human being? Much less another man? Not that I'm complaining, mind you...

SBD: Even though we seem pretty safe right now, I know that danger surrounds you. How do you cope?

CT: [Shrugs.] The best we can, really. We stay focused on keeping ourselves and our allies in one piece, while trying to sort out the details behind the coup. During downtime, though, I don't think I could make it without Ash.

AM: I don't know about that, Captain. You did just fine without me before we met.

CT: Maybe, but now I have a lot more to live for.

AM: [Smiles] Likewise.

The affection these men have for each other is obvious and beautiful to see.

SBD: It’s almost time for me to leave, but before I go, would you share one of your favorite excerpts from Distress Signal?

Excerpt:

“Fuck, what did this doc do to piss off the Revenants?”

“Long story,” Carter said. He stood and surveyed the room. “Escape pods, though none have been fired. Fan out. We need to find --”

A soft thump high on the wall drew Carter’s attention to a grated cover. “Maintenance,” he muttered. He motioned for his men to watch the doorway. Then he approached the maintenance shaft.

“I’m Captain Therres, Local Marines.” When he didn’t get an answer, Carter continued. “We’re here on behalf of the Syndicate.”

Another bump sounded a little louder, and a face appeared behind the grate. Carter couldn’t make out the features, though it was definitely a man. A moment later, the grate wiggled and swung open. A slim man with a long, light brown braid and wire-rimmed glasses dropped to the floor with surprising grace.

“We’re looking for Dr. Mracek,” Carter said. “Look, I know you’re scared --”

“Scared?” The man whirled around, and Carter barely managed to keep his jaw from hitting the floor. Scientists weren’t supposed to be sexy. Were they? “Scared? My entire staff is dead! Revenants are tearing apart my station! Buddy, scared doesn’t begin to touch it!”

“Hey!” Carter grabbed the man’s shoulders, realizing -- belatedly -- that the man was armed. An arc pistol pressed to Carter’s stomach. He glanced down, then back up into wild hazel eyes behind those glasses. “I’m not the enemy.”

“I’ve had more than my share of humans as enemies.”

Recognition clicked in Carter’s brain. “Dr. Mracek?”

The man -- the professor -- nodded, the motion jerky.

“We’re here to rescue you. Joren sent us.”

The pistol finally left its place near Carter’s gut. “They’re all dead.”

“I know. I’ve got men sweeping the docking bay now. We have to get you out of here.”

“Not without my research.”

Carter bit back a protest. He knew the man’s work was important, but his job was to keep the professor alive -- at any cost. “Where is it?”

“Labs are one deck up. Revenants hit the area, but hopefully I can salvage something.”

Although he didn’t like the idea, Carter grunted and gestured toward the doorway where his men waited on guard. The professor hooked the pistol back onto a slender black belt, and Carter led the way out into the corridor. His men fell into step behind them.

The silence was worse than any noise the Revenants or their victims could possibly make. Gun drawn, Carter flattened himself against a wall when they reached a junction. The others behind him did the same. Lights flickered.

Mracek nodded toward the corridor opposite from where they all stood. Carter gestured his men to the other wall. Then he motioned for Mracek to join them. With the professor safely flanked by two burly Marines, Carter inched closer to the corner. Revenants, while wraith-like, were solid. They could be killed. They also possessed some kind of telepathic link to one another; if one got cornered, the others swarmed.

When no sound came, Carter took a quiet, deep breath, and twisted just enough to glance around the corner. Not a single living soul. Without looking away, he waved Mracek and the Marines down the other end. As soon as they ducked into a recess, Carter hurried toward them. Close quarters had nothing on their current situation. The Marines stood on both sides, and Carter practically pinned the professor to the steel wall.

Dr. Ash Mracek smelled like fear and adrenaline, and beneath it all, pure male. Carter peered down at the man crammed between himself and the wall. Christ, if they’d been anywhere else, he’d have happily given into the bizarre -- almost overwhelming -- need to taste those lips. The professor’s eyes narrowed behind the glasses as they stared up at Carter, like the man knew damn well what Carter was thinking. That glare also made it crystal clear that any such move on Carter’s part would be met with an arc pistol.

This sure leaves me wanting more! I find myself reluctant to leave the company of Carter and Ash. They’re fascinating men and I’d like to get to know them better. If you would like to as well, check out

The Saturday Book Diver Interviews Kol and Andromeda from Space Marine by Marteeka Karland

Welcome to the Saturday Book Diver! Today I’m talking to Kol and Andromeda from Space Marine. The Book Diver magic has whisked me through their galaxy right into this pleasure bar where Andromeda works.

At the moment I’m sitting here with Kol, a ruggedly handsome man with short, tight dark hair and a deliciously buff body. Though he’s relaxed, sipping his drink, he’s obviously not the kind of guy a sane person wants to mess with. His gaze scans the bar, as if waiting for one of the patrons to cause trouble. Yet no one seems interested in anything except drinking, flirting and fucking. The lights are dim, the air heavy with musk. Couples undulating on the dance floor--and in the darkest corners of the room--keep time with the pulse of the music wafting through the bar.

We’re waiting for Andromeda to join us. I know when she appears not only because of the look on Kol’s face, but because there’s no missing the small, beautiful woman with long, dark hair who seems to glide across the bar.

When she reaches our table, before she can sit, Kol tugs her onto his lap. I can tell this interview will be a pleasure.

SBD: Thank you both for talking to us today. Since you’re both obviously good--uh--friends, how did you meet?

Kol: I beat the crap out of the man trying to buy her services, then I took his place.

Andromeda: [Elbows Kol in the gut. The big Marine winces, but rolls his eyes.] Kol bought time with me. Had I known he’d run off my customer, I’d have shoved him out the nearest airlock.

Kol: [Deadpans his response] She says that with great affection.

I knew these two would be fun!

SBD: I understand Kol is a cyborg. What’s it like having sex with him and do his artificial parts affect lovemaking?

Andromeda: [Sighs happily] Space Marines are all physically enhanced. That part is optional. Though, I’ve never known a Marine who didn’t opt for the extra enhancement. Yeah, he’s big. But, as they say, it’s not the size of the space craft, it’s the motion of the gravitational stabilizers.

Kol: [Gives Andromeda a “you’ve got to be kidding” look, but says nothing.]

SBD: [Chuckles.] Do you two have a favorite toy/game/position?

Andromeda: As long as the end result is me getting off, I could give a rats ass.

Kol: And here I thought you liked the slow and gentle stuff best. I’ll try to keep that in mind from now on.

SBD: Kol, what’s the sexiest thing about Andromeda?

Kol: Everything. But mostly how she’s brave enough to take on a big Marine like me.

SBD: Andromeda, what’s the sexiest thing about Kol?

Andromeda: How he knew what he wanted and wasn’t afraid to do everything he had to to convince me we belonged together.

SBD: That is very sexy! Before the Book Diver magic sends me home, would you share one of your favorite excerpts from Space Marine?

Her marine wrapped his arms around her waist before latching on to one peaked nipple, sucking and nipping. Andromeda slid her hands over his head, his high-and-tight cut abrading her palms as she held him to her. If she lived to be a hundred, she’d never get tired of the feeling of such a large man wrapping himself around her. She loved his strength, the feel of his hard body pressed so tightly against hers.

Rough, strong hands molded every curve of her body. He seemed to crave her body, needing it as much as she needed his. Every time he slid his hands over her skin seemed more desperate than the last. It wasn’t long before his touch bordered on pain, but he never crossed that line into true pain. Andromeda knew she didn’t need to do anything. Just being there, allowing him full access to her body, was enough for him. For now anyway.

He seemed fascinated with her breasts, laving and nipping the peaked nipples until she squirmed. The fleshy globes were more than a handful for most men, but they seemed to fit perfectly into this guy’s palms. The longer he indulged himself, the more aggressive he became, growling and snarling against her chest possessively. Andromeda loved the sounds he made, loved they way he touched her. He was rough, but not so much as to detract from her pleasure.

The little squeals that escaped her lips every now and then only seemed to spur him on. He might have been paying for his own pleasure, but he wasn’t so callous that he wasn’t concerned with hers. Most men could have cared less if she enjoyed herself or not. This one, though, milked her for every single response he could get.

He stayed at her breasts until she arched into him, offering him as much as he desired. Andromeda wasn’t beyond faking her response if that was what was required, but with this man, she didn’t have to. He seemed to know exactly what she needed and gave it to her in spades.

As he moved down her body, urging her legs over his shoulders, Andromeda sighed, losing herself in the wicked things her marine was doing to her. He definitely knew his way around the female body. The undersides of her breasts seemed to be particularly sensitive as he nipped and licked his way over them before moving lower to her belly button. He tugged at the little charm adorning the indenture.

“Ahh!” She couldn’t help it. He was that good. Andromeda was a woman very experienced in the art of pleasure, but he was the one robbing her of her sanity.

Whew! That excerpt is so hot that I need to order a cold drink before saying goodbye to Kol and Andromeda.

Andromeda herself is kind enough to bring me a tall iced tea flavored with exotic fruit.

With the interview over, I step into a back room for privacy, since I’m required to be alone when the Book Diver magic sends me back to my world. I leave Kol and Andromeda kissing at the table. Meeting this exciting couple has left me wanting to know more about them. To find out what happens to Kol and Andromeda, check out

The Saturday Book Diver Interviews Egan from Night Sins by B.J. McCall

Good morning! It’s time for another adventure with the Saturday Book Diver. Today we’re returning to the world of the Forever series, where vampires are oppressed, but some have chosen to fight back.

I’m here in a penthouse at Carmichael hotel. It’s the unofficial home of a vampire called Egan. Seated in a plush chair across from the dark-haired, gray-eyed vampire, I glance around at the luxurious room. It’s beautifully furnished. Enormous framed landscapes hang on the walls. Looking at them, one almost forgets the penthouse has no windows.

Focusing on my handsome host, I begin.

SBD: Egan, thank you for agreeing to this interview and also for allowing us into your penthouse. I’ve sworn not to release the information you share to anyone in this world. Only readers on the outside will have access to it.

Egan: I appreciate your discretion. It’s illegal for a vampire to leave the Cemetery. Trusting a stranger isn’t easy for me.

Considering how vampires are treated here, I can understand why he feels like this.

SBD: How long have you been a vampire?

Egan:  Close to three hundred years. I’ve traveled the world and have lived in many places. I wish I could tell you the world is a better place. I can’t.

SBD: It must be especially difficult for you, having been around before the laws restricting vampires’ freedom were established. What can you tell us about life before the global economic collapse that triggered the oppression?

Egan:  We were accepted. We were artists, builders, educators, owned businesses and property. Now we are forced to live in places like the Cemetery, isolated and feared, dependent upon government rations.

Before the oppression, I was a free citizen. I designed and built the Carmichael. All I have now is the illusion of freedom within these walls.

I can’t imagine what life must be like here for vampires and those who love them.

SBD: I know interaction between vampires and humans is illegal, but do you have any human contacts?

Egan: Only a few. Good friends are rare nowadays, but I have a special person in my life.  The government tells you vampires are soulless creatures. Believe me when I tell you, Harper is my one true love.

SBD: What three words best describe Harper?

Egan: Courageous. Provocative. Delectable.

SBD: Do you think there’s a possibility you can have a future together, or is it just too dangerous?

Egan: It’s very dangerous. Harper is a Dead Souls Agent. Our relationship defies government rule and breaks every vampire law. If we’re discovered we’ll pay with our lives. The price of Nights Sins.

It’s terrible to know in this world lovers are kept apart. To risk death, Egan and Harper must have a very strong bond.

SBD: Would you share one of your favorite excerpts from Night Sins?

Egan:

Egan had spotted the DSA vehicle and tracked it to the alley. To his surprise the headlamps were extinguished. From the rooftop, he’d watched Agent Croix exit her vehicle and step into the dark alleyway. Easily visible to Egan, she wasn’t wearing a helmet or weapons belt nor was she carrying a burner.

The agent was up to something.

Unarmed and vulnerable, the agent moved slowly, taking tentative steps deeper into the alley. Was she setting a trap?

Keeping his eyes on Croix, Egan listened for the familiar sound of DSA vehicles but heard nothing. Croix was alone.

Egan’s nose twitched. Her scent, better than any perfume, filled him with desire. More desire than he’d experienced in decades.

Then she did the unthinkable. She pulled a piece of red material out of her jacket pocket and raised it like a matador’s cape and turned around. Her red top was drenched in her sweat and scented with her blood.

Egan smiled. Old ones were rarely challenged and never by humans. He was the bull and Croix had returned for the kill.

Familiar and exotic, her blood scented the air. Egan’s fangs extended, stimulated by desire, hunger and need. Now that he’d sipped from her veins, her blood and his senses were forever linked. If she stood in a group of a hundred humans and Egan was blind, he’d pick her out of the crowd with ease.

She stood in the darkness, a siren drawing him to her. Egan had to admire her courage. Only a fool would stand outside in the dark unarmed in this section of the city. Croix wasn’t a fool. Her weapons were hidden.

He’d best resolve the situation before her blood scent drew others.

Egan crossed the roof and entered a door. Moving fast, he took the stairs to the main floor and made his way to the service entrance. He saw her through the open doorway. His nostrils twitched. Her scent perfumed the air and she smelled so good. “Agent Croix, I’m flattered.”

Her hands stuffed in her jacket pockets, she turned toward him. “You’re under arrest for the illegal taking and consumption of human blood.”

“You came to arrest me,” Egan said, watching her hands. Although he was able to see her clearly, she was at a disadvantage in the darkness and had to follow his voice. He moved closer. “And I thought you’d enjoyed our short encounter.”

She stepped toward him. “Lie face down on the ground.”

“So all that heat was just fear?”

Her hand moved. Egan ducked and lunged forward, grabbing her wrists and taking her down.

A beam of blue light shot out from her hand as they fell to the pavement. Egan shoved her arms out to the side, directing away the light beam that had come within an inch of hitting him. She’d almost gotten him. He covered her body with his. “Is that what you really want?”

Wow! That gives us a taste of the danger and excitement of their world.

The Book Diver Magic is fading and it’s time for me to go. Once again I leave this world uneasy about the treatment of vampires and the danger they and any humans who care about them live in.
