Working undercover, Para Marshall Marina Fareeky thinks her sham wedding day will end with her arresting the groom and most of the wedding guests. Just as she’s ready to walk down the aisle, a minion from the Para Marshall’s Office shows up and informs her there’ll be no raid… and no way to avoid her fate. Aleksi Nicholas, eldest son of the Nicholas vampyre clan, watches his reluctant bride shuffle toward him. He’s waited long enough, and now he intends to claim the heart of the woman who’d rather arrest him than bed him.

Para Marshall Marina Fareeky, Empath Level 8, couldn’t breathe. Her synapses misfired several times in a row, causing the room to tilt. She gulped for air, but none would come.
Continuing as if he hadn’t noticed her distress, Leonard Munchbank droned on, but his voice seemed far away. Only selected phrases penetrated her haze.
“Team’s not coming. Government deal with the Nicholas vampyre clan. Request for reimbursement of bikini wax denied.”
Marina shook her head, trying to clear the fog. Her skintight black dress, if one could call a velvet corset with fur-lined streamers hanging off it a dress, constricted her like a hungry anaconda.
It’d hugged her body before, but now it threatened to cut off her circulation completely. She should have known better than to let Aleksi choose her dress. Her head swam. Black and red spots appeared before her eyes. Anger fought with disgust, which fought with panic. Something sucked all the oxygen out of the room.
Trapped. She was trapped and had no choice but to actually marry the tall, sexy vampyre waiting for her in front of all their guests. Even worse, he’d expect a honeymoon, and the taste of her charms she’d been dangling in front of him for the last few months.
He’d want to take her, want her to submit to his carnal demands, and she’d have to or risk discovery. Cream coated her pussy and she winced. Right now she should be scared for her life, not dripping at the thought of Aleksi’s cock filling her. But still, it was a very nice cock. And big.
A tiny amount of air made it to Marina’s brain, and she coughed. She’d spent months undercover for the Para Marshall’s Office, setting up Aleksi, tempting him, luring him. Throwing herself in front of him like a piece of meat and demanding a huge wedding before they consummated their passion.
To her surprise he’d agreed to a large event, one where the guests would be selected friends as well as a Who’s Who of the paranormal criminal underworld, some of them at the top of the Para Marshall’s Most Wanted List just behind #1 -- Aleksi.
Strains of a familiar melody, Aleksi’s favorite waltz, startled Marina and she jumped. The last time she heard it, Aleksi held her against his hard, strong body as he danced her around the dining room. They’d danced and laughed and touched, and she’d almost forgotten her duty. The memory of his endearing charm only added to her anxiety. She was in big trouble. Big, handsome, vampyre trouble.
Aleksi Nicholas qualified as a grade-A sexual threat. His blue-black, shoulder-length wavy hair, black eyes and Michelangelo-inspired features aside, Aleksi’s ability to woo and romance was legendary. He’d seduced almost every woman he came into contact with, and Marina couldn’t believe how easily he’d succumbed to her demands for a legal tie.
She’d never met a creature so beguiling and well-hung. Too bad he was a criminal mastermind to boot.
The chords echoed through the huge, stone meeting hall, each note lingering as an eerie echo. Through the large windows, the blinding white landscape reminded her escape would be impossible. She’d grown up in the Upper North, but Aleksi’s clan lived at the top of the world. Literally.
Tundra and below freezing temperatures blocked her freedom from the outside, while a host of paranormal criminals -- shady shifters, pimp vamps, femme fatale witches, extortionist werewolves, and embezzling elves, among others -- corralled her from the inside. If they even suspected she was anything but Aleksi’s chosen bride, they’d kill her in a heartbeat and gorge on her remains.
“Thank you for understanding, Commander Fareeky,” Munchbank said, mistaking her lack of response for assent. “Now let’s get you married!”
