Tasty Tuesday - Pizza Dip

This is an often requested dish when we're due at a gathering. I thought it would be the perfect thing to share as we're gearing up for the holidays. We've adjusted the recipe somewhat over the years, but not a lot. A word of warning - this is not at all a low-fat recipe.

1 can refried beans (we tend to use the ones with chilis)
1 cup softened cream cheese
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1/2 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp basil
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 cup finely chopped red pepper
1/4 cup sliced green onion
1/2 cup grated sharp cheddar
1/2 cup grated mozzarella

1. In 9 inch ungreased glass pie plate spread refried beans.
2. In bowl mix cream cheese, pizza sauce, and spices well.
3. Spread over bean layer.
4. Sprinkle with veggies and cheese. (May be chilled at this point)
5. Bake in 350 F oven for 20 minutes.

Makes about 3 cups dip. Serve with tortilla chips.
