Tasty Tuesday - Maple Country Style Pork Ribs (low sugar)

This recipe is courtesy of the Sparks People website who emails me healthy recipes on an onging basis in the hopes of instilling a love of cooking in me. So far, I've just learned to pick out low carb or low calorie recipes that require no effort.  It works for me! These taste great and aren't actually bad for me :)


Maple Country Style Pork Ribs (Low Sugar)

1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 pounds country-style pork ribs (to yield 16 ounces meat

before cooking)

1/4 cup onion, diced

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon sugar-free maple-flavored syrup

1 dash black pepper

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce



Directions



Combine all ingredients except the ribs in a medium bowl. Pour over the ribs.



If baking in the oven, place the ribs in a baking dish, cover with foil and bake for 60-90 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 180 degrees.

If preparing in the crockpot, cover and cook on low for 7-9 hours.
