His dick twitched when he remembered the way he had used Lulu a short while ago. She was right. He hadn't had sex in centuries, and he was eager to make up for lost time. Leaving Masato to frown at the pool, Hotsuma moved his consciousness through the water system of the hotel. He followed the trail of his scent that he'd left on Lulu's body.

He'd marked her the first time she'd visited him, but hadn't had the strength to follow her. Now that four of the twelve wards were broken, that restriction was lifted. He could go anywhere in the hotel that water flowed. Once all the wards were broken and the barrier gone, he could go anywhere water existed. The Mizuno family would no longer keep him prisoner.

Until that time, he had unfinished business with a very vocal woman whose passion matched his own. He ended up in the fire extinguisher sprinkler in the ceiling above Lulu's bed. She lay there moaning under her breath and writhing her beautifully curved body over the sheets. Her dark brown skin glistened with sweat Hotsuma wished he could manipulate so he could feel her. The barrier spell must still be affecting her.

"You so owe me for not finishing the job, you horny water spirit."

Hotsuma smiled as he forced a single drop of water from the spigot. It landed between Lulu's full breasts. She squeaked and sat up quickly, searching for the source of the water.

Hotsuma wished he could place a kiss on her full, upturned lips as a surprise. He didn't have that ability, not yet.

Lulu held her hand under the spigot as she frowned at it. "Great. That's just what I need. A leak."

Hotsuma pushed another drop free. When this one hit her hand, he retained enough connection to make the drop travel up her arm. Lulu jumped off the bed and swatted at it, making Hotsuma laugh.

She stopped her frantic behavior and peered at the spigot again. "Hotsuma?"

"Yes." He couldn't speak loudly but he didn't need to.

Lulu's body relaxed and she sighed. "You scared the crap out of me. Don't do that."

"I had to get your attention."

"You have it. I thought I left you in the pool room?"

"You did. I followed you. You said I owe you, after all."

Lulu nibbled her bottom lip. "Yes you do."

"Go to the shower and you can collect." Hotsuma laughed at how quickly Lulu ran to her bathroom. He traveled along the pipes to the shower and waited.

Lulu stopped the tub and turned on the water. Hotsuma used a water tendril to pull the faucet stop so half the water flowed out of the spout and the other half flowed through the shower.

"Join me," he said.

"Love to." Lulu removed her clothes, entered the tub, and then pulled the shower curtain closed.

Not enough water had gathered for Hotsuma to form his body but he didn't let that stop him. Using the water flowing from the showerhead as his hands, he caressed Lulu's ample breasts. Lulu arched into the spray with a muted moan of pleasure.

Her body was still hot and ready from the encounter in the pool room. Hotsuma used that to his advantage. He curved the water between her legs so he could tease her pussy. She spread her legs as far as the tub would allow her and jutted her hips forward.

Hotsuma inserted one finger into her hole while he teased her clit with his thumb. Lulu moaned loud and long. The sound made Hotsuma's dick ache to be inside her. Soon. The tub almost had enough water for him to form a body. Almost. He redirected as much water as he dared to fill the tub faster.

In the mean time, his sweet Lulu leaned back against the shower wall and rotated her hips against the hand he used to pleasure her pussy. He wanted to know her taste. Could he taste in this form?

Saturday Book Diver Interviews Sinn from Nobody Rides for Free

Good afternoon and welcome the Saturday Book Diver. Every weekend I magically dive into fictional worlds to bring you interviews with exciting, sexy and sometimes dangerous characters.

Today I’m standing just outside the North American shrine, one of the most beautiful fairy grottos in the world--at least that’s what I’ve heard. At the moment all I can see is a cave wall, but I’m told that once my guide arrives, the glamour protecting this magical realm will disappear and I’ll see it as it truly is. The Queen has given me special permission to interview a woman named Sinn--the subject of Nobody Rides for Free by Sara Jay.

Here comes my guide now--one of the Queen’s special guards. I can’t actually see his face since he’s wearing a helmet, but the rest of him looks great in form-fitting body armor. I have to pause for a moment because he’s about to search me (and I’m almost looking forward to it).

* * *

All right, I’m back. As a character interviewer, I’m no stranger to the miraculous, but this Fae world is even more beautiful than I imagined. No one can describe it as perfectly as Sara Jay does in this quote from Nobody Rides for Free:

Glittering gems adorned the rounded ceiling, and the walls themselves shone with precious gold and metals unknown to mankind. Azure, rolling rivers ran through the grotto. An occasional kelpie could be seen peeking out of the water, or playfully splashing a passing fae. Tiny asrais flew in the air, while the occasional banshee or phoenix swooped down over their heads. Hundreds of pathways meandered off into various chambers, many of which would be filled by the visiting fae that night. Pillars twisted in exotic formations lined the actual shrine where the Great Queen herself sat.

Right now I can see those pillars, but the Queen isn’t there. She must be off somewhere attending royal affairs.

My hunky guide doesn’t talk much, but he’s leading me to a riverside tavern. Inside, the bartender and several patrons glance at me. The place isn’t very busy at this time of day, but my interviewee is waiting at a fireside table.

SBD: Hi, Sinn. It’s nice to meet you. Thank you for agreeing to the interview.

Sinn: It is my pleasure, human.

SBD: This is a fascinating world. Would you tell us a little more about it and what your place is here?

Sinn: Normally we do not allow humans here, but I have something special in mind for you… You are sitting in our North American shrine, where the Queen takes tribute every year. I am not a very old faery, which means that my tribute must be great in order to retain her favor.

SBD: When I walked in, I noticed the elaborate shrine for the Queen. [At this time I glance nervously toward the guard who has stepped away to order a drink at the bar. I’m not sure how questions regarding the Queen will be received here, so I decide to tread carefully.] Tell me the truth, is she a control freak?

Sinn: I would not make such remarks if I were you! She may have had enough blood tributes this year, but that does not stop her from taking more on her own.

SBD: [That warning makes me feel a little weak, but it’s not the first time I’ve conducted interviews in dangerous conditions. Still, I decide to hold back any further remarks about the Queen’s character.] I’ve heard some stories about you and a guy named Daka. What’s going on?

Sinn: Daka is my moshini, what you humans might call a soulmate. He and I desire to unite as one, but our queen forbids it until we have her permission, as all moshinis must obtain prior to completion. It is very frustrating.

SBD: How about the three bikers? How do they fit into the story?

Sinn: I can tell you about my foray with these humans to satiate my need that Daka cannot yet fulfill. They were most satisfying, in every sense of the word. Of course, now that I have told you, I will have to wipe your memory before you leave—or simply give you to another faery as a slave…

SBD: My time here in this world is almost up, but before I go, is there anything you’d like to add?

Sinn: I did promise my Daka a human treat as a reward for understanding my own adventures… Are you certain you do not wish to stay?

SBD: Tempting, but I have another interview scheduled in a couple of hours. Last, do you have a favorite excerpt from Nobody Rides for Free that you’d like to share?

Sinn: Green Eyes spoke up for the first time, and his voice -- though still notably human --  slid over her like a dark whisper across stone. “Nobody rides for free.”
“What was that?” Sinn asked, perplexed. Surely they didn’t expect tribute from her as the queen did? Humans didn’t even know of such things.
“You heard him, darlin’,” said Cowboy, his accent more annoying now. “Ass, gas, or grass -- nobody rides for free.”
“I see,” she replied, thinking that she should just go ahead and kill them. But then she’d have to drag all three bikes herself, which, though not impossible, wouldn’t be easy with the queen’s insistence of non-flight transportation. “Of course. I can buy your gas at the next station.”
Green Eyes snorted, as if he felt her no longer worth transporting. The other two seemed like they were still game.
“Okay, little lady, then hop on,” said Cowboy, and he presented her with a clunky old helmet.
She almost laughed at the thought of falling off the motorcycle and hurting herself. She’d flutter to the ground and watch them die without much interest, then lug them all to the shrine with her. Instead, she maintained her human cover, adjusting the helmet over her long black curls, and got behind Cowboy.
As soon as he revved his engine up, she felt desire stirring again. Her breasts, pressed against the back of his leather jacket -- something that might normally make her gag -- began to tingle, and she could feel the rough texture against her nipples through her silken shift.
What trickery was this? No human had ever made her feel so -- so lustful! Only Daka could do that.
Daka… Just thinking about him made her even more aroused. The vibration of the bike between her legs made her imagine being beneath him. His slick green skin would bob over hers, his spiraled tattoos rendering her dizzy as he dipped himself into her body over and over again…
Oh, Daka! She could feel her release building and Cowboy must have sensed it because he laughed a little and grabbed her knee. “We’ll get some ass out of you yet, princess,” he drawled.
Though she knew that he assumed she couldn’t hear him over the roar of the engine, her faery ears made out his words perfectly. Indeed, Cowboy? She thought. We shall see about that.
But as they traveled into the night, she began to think about his words. They wanted ass from her, did they? She, too, wanted some relief, after all. They were not of the fae. They wouldn’t break her contract.
What of Daka, though? What would he think? He considered humans nothing more than toys as well, and her playing with them would likely not upset him. Especially, she suddenly thought, if she managed to help him play with a human or two of his own later.
She felt a real smile return to her face. She was going to play with some humans tonight.

SBD: Thank you so much for the interview, Sinn! It was fantastic getting a first-hand look at your world!

Tasty Tuesday ~ Punch!!

Hey all. I don't have any pictures of this because, well, it goes so fast. The trick to this recipe is that it's easy. Yep. Really, really easy.

I call this Easy Punch. (and no, no one gets hurt)

1 - 2 ltr bottle Sprite/7Up/Sierra Mist (whichever you choose)

1 - 48 oz bottle Hawaiian Punch (but you can totally experiment here and try different juices if you don't want Hawaiian Punch - grape cranberry juice works well, too)

1 pkg frozen berries (works great for ice and doesn't water down the punch, while adding healthiness)

Mix in a punch bowl and enjoy. It's truly that simple. Best part about it? You can make this totally soft or add spirits to make it harder. There's so much room for experimentation.

Enjoy!

Happy Halloween!

Hey, y'all!

Just dropping in to say happy Halloween!

I love this time of year. Even in Texas, things are starting to cool off, and all the little munchkins are running amok in their costumes. My bassets are going to be a bee and flapper. If I can get pictures, I will post them on my personal blog, but they sure aren't loving costumes.

Anyhoo, I also love the creepy stories at this time of year! Spooktaculars, Spookapaloozas, the 13 Days of Halloween on AMC... Yum

Naturally, since I write for Changeling, I do a lot of paranormal stuff. I am even now hard at work on a zombie chicken story for a free read.

In the meantime, y'all should check out Keeping Score: One Up. It's on ARE now as well as the Changeling site.

It has demon hunters. Who doesn't love a man with a sword?

Check it out here!

Also, comment today to have a chance at a Halloween gift pack that includes and awesome dancing werewolf and a GC to Rainbow Ebook!

Happy Great Pumpkin Day!

I should warn you I have strong opinions on chowdah (chowder to most of the world). Although I was born in Queens and lived there until I was 10, I was largely raised by my maternal grandmother, the real Alice Gaines. I was named after her, and I took her name as my pen name.

My grandmother was from Massachusetts, and she taught us New England ways. We also lived for a long time in Connecticut. Old time New Englanders look on all things New York with some suspicion. When we’d see someone driving erratically or too fast, we’d nod knowingly and comment, “New York driver.” Similarly, we don’t consider that clam and tomato soup chowdah or even chowder. Chowdah is white. It has milk in it. Period. End of discussion.

You’ll notice that my recipe has no thickening agent. Not all soup has to be thick. Frankly, I’d rather taste clams than flour. Besides, there’s only enough broth to cover the potatoes and clams. You won’t find five or six clam pieces floating in a sea of white. It’s a very hearty soup, even if you can’t stand a spoon in it.

Traditionally, chowdah contains salt pork and is cooked in layers in a big pot. My grandmother’s version used canned claims, making it very easy and quick to make. I’ve substituted bacon for the salt pork to make it even easier.

2 small cans (or one large) chopped clams
1/2 medium onion
1 medium potato
three slices of bacon (or one or two thick slices)
clam broth, fish broth, lobster broth, crab broth, or water
milk, cream, or half-and-half
butter

Drain clams, reserving liquid. Slice the onion-half thinly. In a heavy pot cook the bacon until crisp. Drain on paper towels and discard all but about 1 Tbs bacon fat. Add 1 Tbs butter to the fat, melt, and then add the onions and cook until translucent. Don't brown.

Peel and dice potato. Add potato to the onions and enough reserved clam liquid and/or broth just to cover. Cook just until potato is tender. Add clams and crumbled up bacon. Add "enough" milk or cream to make the chowdah white. Add another pat of butter and allow it to melt. Heat gently (don't boil) until it's the temperature you want. Check carefully for salt and pepper (clam broth is salty). Eat.

Saturday Book Diver Interviews Luc Moline from The Air I Breathe by Megan Slayer

Hello! Welcome to the Saturday Book Diver. Each weekend I magically dive into fictional worlds for interviews with unique and sexy characters.

Tonight I'm in the hotel room of Luc Moline from the band Glow. Despite long hours on the road during this grinding tour, Luc appears relaxed as he lounges on a plush couch, sipping from a glass of wine. He's wearing leather pants and a T-shirt that shows off his muscular arms. With his dark hair and sexy eyes, he's even more handsome in person than on video or in pictures. Unfortunately for single guys out there, rumor has it that his heart is taken.

He watches me with discerning eyes and I feel a bit apprehensive. There's an underlying sadness to this guy who appears to have everything -- fantastic looks, talent, and success.

SBD: Hi, Luc. Thank you for taking the time to talk to me tonight.

Luc: I'm glad to be here. Always happy to talk to a lovely lady. Thanks for having me.

SBD: [Normally I remain impartial, but I can't help being charmed by this guy.] I know you've had tons of interviews that focus on music and Glow. Tonight I'd like to get a bit more personal. How would you describe yourself? Tell us what kind of a man you are.

Luc: On stage I'm very extroverted. I like being the center of attention. But when I'm off stage, I'm more low-key. I like to be comfortable and exist. When I'm at home, I'm happy to veg out and just be. If I'm working on music, then look out. I'm really focused and grumpy. But hey, music is my second love.

SBD: I've heard you're close friends with Taygan, a wind elemental. Will you confirm or deny that and possibly explain exactly what a wind elemental is?

Luc: I'm very much involved with him. He's one of my best friends. But you also asked what a wind elemental is. He can garner the wind. Yep. And when he's turned on, Tay whips wind through the room. It can get rather chilly, but in the midst of sex, it's refreshing to have that breeze. And yes, that's my wicked grin.

SBD: [The temperature in the room just shot up and I resist the urge to fan myself.] Since we're being candid, what happened between you guys at Christmas?

Luc: I asked Santa for my heart's desire. He gave me Tay. We came together and it was like a beautiful explosion. Sexy, hot, and disastrous. Makes me love Christmas even more.

SBD: What's one thing about Tay that you find irresistible?

Luc: His smile. The guy tries to be all sly, but when he smiles, I know exactly what he's thinking.

SBD: Is there anything in particular you'd like readers to know before I leave you to get some rest?

Luc: It was printed in a fan magazine that I write music in the bath tub or in the nude. While those both sound like fun, neither is true. I write music with my clothes on because I am more than likely in a social situation. My attention span is all over the place so I'm constantly thinking about what I can put into a new song. So I might be at a restaurant and writing music. Can't really be at a restaurant in the buff.

SBD: [How can you not love this guy?] Thank you for that glimpse at the songwriting part of your career, Luc. Would you share one of your favorite excerpts from The Air I Breathe?

Luc:

"Don't you go to sleep on me. I'm nowhere near through with you."

Luc's voice ripped Tay from his haze. "Sorry."

"Scoot forward." Luc tapped Tay's shoulder. "Lemme get behind you."

Tay complied, not totally sure how he managed to move. Luc smoothed his hands around Tay's ribs and pulled him into the curve of his body.

"You're not much warmer." Luc rested his chin on Taygan's shoulder. "Start from the beginning and don't leave a thing out."

Taygan sagged into Luc and closed his eyes. Tears pricked behind his eyelids. The beginning. Try about the time he'd first met Lucien Moline. Tay sighed. "It's complicated."

"I like complicated. It's my best riff." Luc rubbed a washcloth over Tay's chest. "Talk to me."

"Things started to go off the rails when I first met you." Taygan swallowed past the lump in his throat. "My world spun out of control."

"I'm a bad influence," Luc cooed. "You like it."

"I do, but I don't understand it. I don't." The words poured out faster than Taygan could dam them up. "When we're together, I'm stronger. My element is lighter and I'm happy. But then it gets too strong or heavy or whatever it is, and I can't stand it. I have to move. I want to stay and have our life right here, but I can't control it. Deep down in my soul, I don't want to leave you. I want to be right here in your arms, and every time I have to leave, I know you're sick of me going. One day you're not going to take me back, and it scares me shitless." Tears streamed down his cheeks and his voice cracked. "I'm scared."

Luc drew a long breath and let it out slowly. He wrapped his arms around Taygan, squeezing tight. "Can I at least help you figure out the riddle you keep talking about?"

"By all means." Taygan threaded his fingers with Luc's and rested his forehead on Luc's temple. "Last Christmas was the strongest I've ever felt."

Chuckling, Luc ground his pelvis against Tay's ass. "We've got part of this thing figured out."

"We?" Taygan's cock thickened, and heat washed through his body. Trust

Luc to truly warm him through and through. Goddess, he loved Luc.

Luc nodded. "We have the best time in bed -- or in this case the bathtub."

SBD: Luc, thank you again for taking time out of your tour to give fans this sneak peek into your life.

A bodyguard escorts me out of Luc's room and as I reach the door I glance over my shoulder for one more look at the fascinating musician. I see him talking to an adorable sandy-haired, blue-eyed man who must have been waiting in the adjoining room. It seems that I've unfortunately missed the chance to talk to Taygan. Hopefully another time.

Tasty Tuesday: Grandma's Lefse

Welcome to Tasty Tuesdays, where Changeling authors share their favorite specialty recipes.

Hi Cyberspace, if you don't know what the heck lefse is you've been missing out.  When I eat this delicious potato flatbread, it reminds me of my childhood holidays. Spread on a thick layer of butter and sprinkle this with sugar for a wonderful treat.  My family has always enjoyed this with white sugar, but my husband’s clan insists on brown sugar. This is also great with meatballs and gravy rolled up inside.  The biggest key to success is putting the potatoes in a ricer and making the sheet as thin as possible.

5 c. prepared russet potatoes
1 ½ tsp. salt
5 T. canola oil
2 c. flour

Cook about 5 pounds of potatoes; drain well.  Put through a ricer, Measure, and then chill. Add salt, oil, and enough flour to roll the dough easily.  Roll as thin as possible before baking on a preheated lefse or pancake griddle.  Turn to prevent scorching.
